Tool – The Grudge | GUITAR and BASS COVER

Hey everyone! We’re hanging out at Okzygen on the start of another excellent weekend, and I had a bit of a craving for some Tool. It’s also been a bit since I’ve done something on the bass, so we’re gonna be pulling double duty with both guitar and bass parts. Today we’re ripping through The Grudge, the opening track from their album Lateralus.

For many reasons I can’t do the drum parts in the studio (It’s Danny Carey, do I need to say more?) and there’s no way I can hit some of those notes Maynard reaches, so we’ll be playing along with some of the original parts. We’re inching closer to doing proper full covers of some wicked tunes, and hopefully I’ll have the drum kit set up with the rest of the live room very soon. Then it’s just a matter of luring a wild drummer to the studio. That or taking the time to learn to play the things properly myself. I am quite excited to get the kit set back up though, and it will definitely translate to more original tracks more often. There’s something about sitting behind the drums and just jamming out that really gets the creative juices flowing.

As always, if ya dig what you see then head on over to the official YouTube Channel to subscribe and keep updated on all the new things!
