Hey everyone! We’ve looped around to yet another Friday, so it’s time to rip through another song. And today we’re doing something a bit more on the popular side of things. Just a little tune by the name of Walk, by that rather well known group, Foo Fighters. I know, I know. It’s not some relatively obscure melodic death metal tune with blistering solos and interwoven melodies. Sometimes my hands need a break. Sue me.
Now I’ve wanted to do a cover of this song for quite some time. It’s not exactly the most difficult of tunes to play, but the whole triple guitar track thing was always a little daunting. Leave it to Dave Grohl to decide that the best way to make your band loud, is by just adding more band. Anyways, I remember listening to this album when it came out on repeat for ages. And that last song in particular just resonated something fierce at that time. Some day I’ll record a proper full cover of this tune, once time is a bit more prevalent.
In other news, I’ve recently picked up the newest version of Guitar Pro to help learn and write new tunes, and wow, I never knew how much I actually missed using this program. Since both messing around with Guitar Pro and drop tuning The Beast last week, I’ve written this weird time-bendy math metal tune, in the vibes of Meshuggah. If I can finish up some details and little hiccups in the composition, that might end up being next weeks video. Only time will tell.
