May’s End, 2015

Hey everyone, thought I’d make another update to round off the month. The website’s still growing, as I slowly collect all the pieces of music and productions I’ve made and collect them together. It’s been interesting to say the least, going back to all my old recordings, listening back and thinking to myself, why did I ever allow these creations to be heard by anyone else in their current state. But this journey along time has been about self improvement, and you can’t get any better unless you learn from ones mistakes.

Shaker, Thunder MakerIn terms of new music, I’ve been working away at a new piece over the last few weeks, trying my hand out at some brass and horned instruments in the composition while still trying to keep that heaviness in the base song structure. Spent a few hours the other day laying down some little percussive elements for that track, shakers and a cool little thunder maker for some background noises. I’ve been going for a more organic feel for this little project I’ve been working on, which can be difficult being the prime composer and performer. Been looking towards such acts as The Mars Volta, Queens of the Stoneage, and some Jimi Hendrix for that kinda jazzy, bluesy drive behind the rhythms. Hopefully all of these sounds come together over the next few months for a new album or EP, it’s been a while since I’ve released something in physical form. In the meantime, I’ve left a demo/sample of the new song, give it a listen and let me know what you think.

Other than that, there hasn’t been too much in terms of new music for release. I’ve been busy working on the compositions themselves and demoing out the guitars on most of the other tracks before getting down to the nitty gritty. In the next month or so I’ll be finding some time on my hands to really sit down and hammer out all the recording at once for the final product. Then all that stands will be the mix and master before we can start talking a release date and shows. For now, it’s back to work.
